Fair Oaks Farms in northwest Indiana estimates it is taking 2 million gallons of diesel fuel off the road annually by converting the 1.5 million gallons of manure its cows produce daily into natural gas. Milking time at Glenapp – A costal farm in south Ayrshire.The farm covers 12,350 acres. In July, 2013 there was an opportunity to visit 5 large dairy farms in China. The dairy industry is expanding rapidly and are borrowing a lot of technology from the U.S. The farms ranged in size from 500 to 10,000 cows plus replacements with 305 day milk production up to 22,000 lb.
